California rain brings life back to the garden
The rain calls for celebration after 4 year of California drought. All plants come to life. Those that are drought tolerant also enjoy the deep drink of water. My garden is calling for spring so I just want to share some of the photos .

I don’t even mind the weed in the midst of the succulent. Do you see it is sticking like a sore thumb. If the plants are happy , I am happy.

Cercis Canadensis ( Eastern Redbud) starting to bud. They don’t do well in my California garden as compared to the Cercis Occidentalis below.

Cercis occidentalis (Western Redbud) is showing in its’s full glory. This is in my front yard where it faces south and gets lots of reflective heat from the driveway on the left. Notice how my neighbor’s lawn is so lush and green? My neighborhood is all lawn. I am the only odd ball.

Trying to revive this grafted Pluot that suffered from lack of water. We cut off the dead branches, and added another graft of different variety. We tied up a horizontal branch to try and hold the two branches apart. Hopefully, by next year or two, I will be able to show you the revived and better looking Pluot.
~ Hope you enjoyed a little part of my garden . I will try to post more . Till next time

Thank you Jean. My garden is mostly experimental so I can advice clients better.
Very lovely, thank you for sharing.
Glad you like it Judi. Happy Gardening. We should have a wonderful spring with all the rain that we have received.
Beautiful Laura! I have been very conservative with my water this year. I too am in California. This rain has been lovely & I now have a green lawn! Hooray. I appreciate your pic of your pluot. It’s good to know that even experienced gardeners suffer loss. I love getting inspiration from your plantings!
Thank you!
